Because pinstripe sets that are too big feel much more relaxed.
A couple of sizes too big plus a few simple adjustments make this suit work in a completely different way. I narrowed the trousers at the top so they wouldn’t fall off and took the waist belt off the jacket-inspired dress and turned it into a collar.

I couldn’t imagine wearing pinstripe in a non ironic way. Pinstripe brings up images of men in suits, Wallstreet and business. The kind of traditional business that I feel is not of this time anymore and should be changed. But the pinstripes that I’ve liked seeing lately are applied completely differently on other silhouettes and garments. Sometimes ripped, torn and with frayed edges. The concept of pinstripe and what is stands for literally being altered.

Turning a belt into a choker is exactly the kind of creative approach I admire. 🙂 The whole grungy pinstripe concept is great! Unique and unexpected. I especially love those mile long pants. Have been admiring this exaggerated length for a while (Charlie May’s recent collections for example) but can’t wrap my head around walking on my own pants and destroying them this way, even if it looks super cool. 🙂

I love what you did here, an this explains it perfectly: “I couldn’t imagine wearing pinstripe in a non ironic way. Pinstripe brings up images of men in suits, Wallstreet and business.” Great post!

You look so great. I love the idea with the too big trousers. I’m about as small as you and trousers are always too long anyway.
