You might have already seen this if you follow the channels of Dutch Vogue, they asked me to make a nail tutorial in collaboration with Samsung.
I said ‘wow’ out loud when I opened the little box containing the new Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge which I was testing out for Dutch Vogue. It was a flat shiny object with an endless screen, the screen going around the corner actually looked very logical.
Reflective surfaces and metallics are elements that I use a lot in my work. Inspired by the phone I looked for a metallic object to test the camera with – and also to make a wallpaper for the brand new phone. From those pictures came the idea for this simple manicure: shiny nude nails with randomly scattered chunks of (real!)silver.
/ step 1
Apply a coat of shiny topcoat.
/ step 2
Tear off a few tiny pieces of the silver leaf with your tweezers and put them on the nail. While the topcoat is still wet you can still move the silver leaf a little bit and tear it further appart with your tweezers.
/ step 3
After the first layer with the silver leaf has completely dried, add one or two more layers of the clear shiny topcoat.
