In-Grid’s Katie and Adam were in The Netherlands a little while ago. As a super fan of their shirts I was super thrilled that they came by Romeo’s studio to hang out with us an afternoon. We had a long Sunday lunch, talked about design, perfectionism and bike accidents – we discovered a beautiful staircase and meanwhile I also got to shoot their incredible shirts.
I admire their incredible eye for detail. Their quality control involves counting the stitches per centimeter, which are exactly 4. In a world where the highstreet-machine pumps out clothes by millions and collections are designed and produced without two weeks and without a sampling process(two weeks yes, that store that starts with a Z), people who takes their design so serious has become a rarity. They are soon to have stockists in Japan, where clients are known to count the stripes on each sleeve of a thinly striped shirts, to see if they are exactly the same. In-Grids perfect (and I do not mean that figurative sense) would fit right in.
If you’re going to invest in a white cotton shirt guys, keep In-Grid in mind.
