Sceptic, to say the least is how I felt about this little guy when Olympus asked me to document my Paris fashion week with it. So small and light compared to my usual DSLR that we carry around, the Pen was only slightly larger than my wallet. When seeing the images on a bigger screen and printed out on large canvasses in the Olympus gallery my doubts about it were completely gone. But its size is probably my favorite thing about it: taking pictures, focusing and adjusting the lighting with one hand is something I can’t even do with my iPhone. It took me a day to get used to but after that it grew on me like an extension of my arm.
I’m super excited to tell you that my photos are currently on display at the OLYMPUS Fashion Photo Gallery in Paris. Do come have a look if you happen to be in town. The Gallery is open for everyone, but also serves as a co working space, visitors can borrow one of the Olympus Pen cameras for a day and when bringing it back, have a chance for some of their photos to be included in the exposition. The concept is that it will be a growing collection of images, which will be brought together during the next fashion week in September for a final exposition.
