/ one cup of almond milk
/ one ripe banana
/ ginger
/ a couple of frozen blueberries

On my plate is where I appreciate color the most. However when I saw Elinor’s grey smoothie last week, I got incredibly inspired to make a monochromatic drink of my own. It took a few tryouts and mixing lots of ingredients to finally get the solid, light grey color – which ended up being quite uncomplicated. It is very surreal to slurp down the grey consistency which besides being so aesthetically pleasing is also -not unimportant- pretty tasty, healthy and vegan too .

1/ Mix the almond milk, banana and ginger in a blender until you get a creamy, very pale yellow liquid.

2/ Add in the frozen blueberries one by one, just enough to even out the yellow tone but not as much as to turn your shake grey. Yellow and purple are opposite to each other on the colorwheel – if you even balance them out exactly you will be exactly in the middle, which is grey – or no color at all.

  6. A grey smoothie looks and feels strange but taking into consideration its ingredients it must be yummy and super nutritious!

One thing you can do is using charcoal which doesn’t have a really strong taste is also good for you. I make grey charcoal lattes with it. x
