Black Lines On Nude Nails

Photobucket

Quicker than applying regular nail polish.
Cut off half of the hairs of an old nail polish brush, you can make it as thin of thick as you want. Dip it in some black polish and draw a line down the middle of a nude nail. I like the graphic elongating effect of painting only half of the nail and leaving the moons exposed.

*Must check out: Liza Chloe’s striped nails, who did this almost a year ago! and Jayne’s thicker version

Hi! Great post! This is actually a very retro look! It was worn by some actresses in the 1920s and 30s. Back then, it was considered unseemly to have your whole nail painted, thus the moons and tips being left undone in the moon mani and the single stripe like this. I have a photo on my tumblr of an actress with the stripes, and was actually going to ask my mani gal to do that next week!
    Great blog!
