Here’s a manicure idea that I did for Dutch Vogue this month..

This Nail tutorial doesn’t come with step by step images. It is fool proof, no tools, faster than it would take to even get to the nail salon. Don’t try to do it faster than necessary though, but give yourself a minute per speckled nail. With the regular nail polish brush, carefully touch your nails, holding the brush at different angles will create slightly different shapes of speckles.

Do it to one nail, do it to half a nail or do it to all your nails. Whatever you have time for. Add a thick layer of top coat to smooth out the surface and make the manicure last longer.

I have been experimenting a lot with speckled nails too lately, been trying to create the specked rubber flooring you had a sample of. The hand painted ones take me a very long time but the closest and quickest i have done is with a black and white confetti clear polish on top of grey.
Yours is really nice i will try angling the brush and doing it with black grey and white see if it works. Going to try granite spray in a can too, see if that works too? But not sure about that one though might be too messy. 🙂

hey Lucy: this one was actually an outcome of me attempting to do a granite look -but halfway through the process I realized that it was much nicer, simpler + less time consuming that with the added grey tones.

Yes! I hear you i got bored whilst doing it, my nails are not something i like to spend a lot of time on. The confetti polish with large black and white dots is really good and quick.
Just a question, might think its unrelated but i think it is, do you paint? Would love to see some art from you! 🙂 get the feeling you would make some interesting marks.
