Being and becoming. They are so connected that if you think about it long enough, you come to a point where they almost mean the same. “Being” is not one fixed thing, it is not something you can put your finger on. There is constant movement, growth, evolution in being yourself.

The print ‘Be Coming’ is all about building yourself, finding yourself and becoming yourself. Be Coming is about forever being on your way, forever being in a state of ‘getting there’, forever expanding, evolving and flourishing. (Who else could have embodied this better than my kid Lois? Snapped these pictures of her dancing in our living room wearing the tee last weekend.)

Romeo came up with Be Coming, and it immediately resonated so much with me. Because I have had the realization that I will never get ‘there’, that ‘there’ doesn’t even exist. That we are all a constant works in progress. I designed the print inspired by a thrift-find from Antwerp, a tee that reads Championship ‘91 across the chest.

What I love most about Weekday is their voice – the way that they don’t shy away from having a clear point of view. That they don’t print random phrases on their tees. But contribute to the culture by taking social and political responsibility with that. That’s why I was so thrilled to have been invited to contribute to their Zeitgeist collection. Hopefully you can relate to being in constant state of becoming.

They will be printed in stores across The Netherlands; Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Den Haag and Groningen.

There is also a limited amount of tees available online; get one here
Upate: we’re so thrilled that they sold out within a few days, thanks to everyone who purchased one.
