Sexy lingerie for me usually does not involve much lace, ribbons, ruffles, bows, the colors pink or red.
It does not involve a fashion show with models wearing wings, feathered tails and stilettos.
Sexy lingerie for me means it is not designed for men, it should not make your goodies look like little decorated easter eggs for a guy to unpack. It should be functional, well fitted and almost invisible.
Sexy lingerie should never feel ridiculous.

Finally a breath of relief. Thanks for writing how it really is! Beautiful shots, I love the play with shadows/light.

  2. Daria says:

    Love comfortable lingerie x

  3. Martine says:

Love the photography, as per usual, and agree with you completely! Sexy isn’t about decoration, it’s about being comfortable and free.

  4. Mia says:

Beautiful. I’ve been looking for this set for so long, but can’t find it anywhere.. (The shipping cost to Norway from bare necessities is almost double the price for the set..)

  6. Deze heb ik ook! Wat zitten ze fijn hè? Oh, and I totally agree! My Calvins are way sexier than lingerie with ribbons and that sort of stuff!

Sexy underwear should be? Or sexy underwear is. It’s not your place to tell people how to define sexy and how you’ve worded it kind of gives off that vibe.

  9. Luz says:

@elena It’s not anti-feminist to like wearing ~sexy~ lingerie and what is sexy is subjective too. I have more to say but I’m just not very eloquent with what I want to say without getting upset unfortunately :/

A great way to look at it!

    Hello,

I agree wholeheartedly with your statement. A lot of underwear marketed to women looks better suited for 5-year-olds.

I was surprised that you’re a fan of the obvious logos. I didn’t think the in-your-face branding would go with your aesthetic based on what I’ve seen on the blog. On the other hand, if you support what the brand does, I guess there’s nothing wrong with wearing it loud and proud.

I enjoy perusing your blog whenever I need a visual reset.

  12. Kelly says:

Thank you somebody gets it. Perfect pictures.

  13. Effie says:

@ Aron, please read carefully. Ivania says, ‘Sexy underwear FOR ME….’ So it’s obvious, she states what sexy means to her.
Ivania, I look forward to reading your blog, especially the DIYs

I think you might like the brand ‘La Fille d’O’ (if you don’t already know it) very sexy yet still functional. And most important: no lace or ribbons!

  15. Olga says:

Good post! I’m with you on it! 100%!

  16. Maja says:

    Hi Ivania.

    Why can’t I comment?

  17. Grace says:

Finally some reassurance that what I have thought is right! I’ve never been one for luscious lace, it’s over done and actually makes me feel the opposite to it’s given purpose. Thongs and little frenchies were notate for a women with a bigger belly and wide hips, I’ve always felt sexiest when in simple black high waisted pants and a no frills longline bra. Thanks for highlighting this, great post xx

aaaaaaaaaaaaaa finally someone has the same likes as me! lace and ribbons dont make me feel sexy at all tbh. it makes me feel ridiculous because it sometimes dont even cover anything. i also feel reaaaaaaaaaally sexy in high-waist fitted jeans because it covers me up so good i cant even. i also really love this type of lingerie since it just feels comfortable and sexy 🙂

  18. ANDREA says:

Yes! Yes! Yes! You think so beautifully!

For me real sexiness lays in ones eyes. A look at my partner can say so much more than anything else. I love my naked body and feel the most sexy then. But personally i would prefer frills than someones name screaming on my lingerie. And if I want to feel sexy to fornicate with my men I do put on accessorizes that pleases him that’s what makes it sexy for me.

I agree with most of what you wrote but I do own 2 lace bras not because I want to be a lingerie model but because there are some especial days I want to feel a bit more feminine but most days I only wear cotton calvin klein or cotton american apparel undies/bras

Love this. I’ve recently abandoned almost all underwire, frilly things and have found a love for bralettes, and tank bras similar to your calvin klein one.

  25. Lelo says:

Real nice, comfort is a first, sexy comes later.

  26. Sarah says:

Love your pictures! Cotton is the best for a woman to wear.
