Small, light, understated, high tech, oval – not round. Think nineties R&B
… or The Matrix.
The wonderful mail that came in from Berlin, still looked a bit irrelevant last week. On that rainy dark day it looked like it would stay in its white box for a while. But suddenly the sun came out, days are getting longer (still light outside at 4.30 pm!) – and my new Mykita sunglasses in use.
I’ve said this before: the technique on these is unlike anything else out there. I imagine space ships are made like this. First thing that you’ll notice is that there is not one single screw or traditional hinge used for these frames. Then there is the weight – or the lack of – you have to get used to: they weigh close to nothing, yet stay in place and are super strong. The temples are attached by a system where the metal is bended in a spiral and snaps back and forth when opening and closing, it’s incredible. The crazy thing about the metal frame is that it is slightly bendable yet always goes back to its shape.
