Obsessed with the late nineties early 2000’s – Amber Valletta, Chloe Sevigny and Carolyn Bessette Kennedy are dominating my ‘saved images’ folder.

After the crazy fads of the eighties and nineties, it was the first time in hisory when the fear of overdressing became bigger than the fear of underdressing. And I find the psychology behind underdressing beyond interesting. It is a sort of manifestation of humbleness and modesty. It takes equal amount of confidence to chose to overdress than to underdress, because in this time of viral-going-status-symbols it can put demands on the wearer. Clothes are a form of communication, underdressing is like whispering in a world where everyone yells. It can be so subtle that you will not be identified by anything else than what you alone inspire.

  1. The 2000’s fashion hasn’t quite grown on me yet, though with the way fashion is moving right now, I can say it’s going to come pretty soon. I love your outfit though – the monochrome take on it is such a fresh take!
